Senior Engineer - Planning (Transit infrastructure)

Responsibilities

• Develop fundamental knowledge of planning and scheduling concepts, including effects on financial performance.
• Become familiar with data sources for schedule development.
• Identify and investigate project schedule variances.
• Collect, update, and produce scheduling reports.
• Assist in development and maintenance of work breakdown structures (WBS).
• Develop understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracting.
• Understand Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and review engineering, procurement and construction logic.
• Assemble data for schedule updates and measure project progress.
• Gain knowledge of scope control, change management, and earned value methodology.
• Support data gathering and provide baseline schedule analysis.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports, project lookaheads, and highlight project criticalities.
• Develop and distribute project curves: progress, cost, and manpower (planned, actual, forecast).
• Participate in planning and scheduling meetings for insights.
• Contribute to EOT claims, Critical Path Analysis, and Earned Value Management.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Fundamental knowledge of CPM scheduling
• Construction drawings and contracting familiarity
• Experience with WBS development and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in civil infrastructure, especially rail
• Experience in engineering consultancy and Design & Build contract environments
