Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Analyze applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents and monitor construction activities for compliance.
  • Perform general inspection on all construction and subcontractor work to assure safety and work quality.
  • Verify equipment settings, alignment, testing, and energization requirements.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, including updates.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with standards and contract specifications.
  • Maintain daily records of contractor personnel and equipment resources.
  • Conduct site supervision and inspections as required by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
  • Liaise and follow up daily with the contractor regarding resource management, safety, and site needs.
  • Prepare daily reports to the RE or ARE covering work orders, material deliveries, and inspection schedules.
  • Implement site instructions and follow up as directed by the RE and ARE.
  • Apply quality controls and procedures for the site.
  • Prepare site measurements and surveying checks (for alignments and levels).
  • Coordinate with client project manager during inspections with RE/ARE present.
  • Assist RE/ARE with contract correspondences and site documentations.
  • Resolve site problems promptly with RE/ARE.
  • Monitor start-up, commissioning, and handover of site works; maintain project milestone records.
  • Maintain records of material tests and executed works.
  • Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor plans.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, Technical Institute Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or related field).
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience for Civil Engineering graduate in similar works.
  • Minimum 9+ years’ experience for Technical Institute Diploma in similar works.
  • Minimum 14+ years’ experience for High School or equivalent graduate in similar works.
