Structural Inspector - Site (Building project)

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough on-site inspections of structural elements in building projects throughout Ras Al-Khaimah
• Verify compliance with local building codes, regulations, and approved plans
• Identify structural defects, safety hazards, and non-compliant work
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address structural issues
• Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Utilise inspection equipment and tools to assess structural integrity
• Provide recommendations for corrective actions when necessary
• Stay updated on local building codes and industry best practices in the UAE, particularly in Ras Al-Khaimah
• Participate in project meetings and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders
• Ensure all inspections are conducted efficiently and in compliance with organisational standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural inspection or related field
• At least 3 years of consultancy experience
• In-depth knowledge of UAE building codes and regulations
• Proficiency in structural inspection techniques and methodologies
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong computer skills (report writing, data management)
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work onsite and travel within Ras Al-Khaimah
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards and practices
• Detail-oriented and organized
