Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction materials, both in the laboratory and on-site
  • Review and document materials delivered to the site, ensuring conformance with approved samples, specifications, and quality standards
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintaining accurate records of all tests performed and work executed
  • Collaborate with project managers and contractors to address any material-related issues or discrepancies
  • Monitor proper storage and handling of materials on-site
  • Assist in the preparation of punch lists and participate in the start-up, testing, and commissioning processes
  • Review and provide recommendations on Requests for Information (RFIs) and variance requests from contractors
  • Ensure compliance with local and international construction standards and safety regulations
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in material inspection
  • Perform site condition inspections prior to construction activities, verifying compatibility with designed permanent works

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Construction Management, or related technical field
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in laboratory materials testing and field inspection
  • Proven experience in comparable construction projects
  • In-depth knowledge of material testing standards and procedures
  • Strong familiarity with quality control processes and regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment and related software
  • Outstanding communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Experience working in the Middle East, preferably in the UAE
  • Willingness to work in various construction site conditions
  • Valid certification in material inspection standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) is a plus
