Hardware Engineer, General Interest

Responsibilities

• Rapid evaluation of engineering concepts across mechanical, electrical, and systems domains
• Perform trade studies and physics-based analysis for novel engineering challenges
• Design, implement, and test complex electro-mechanical systems
• Lead design reviews and define/execute hardware test plans
• Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects to production
• Integrate electrical and mechanical subsystems (sensors, payloads, avionics) onto platforms
• Support hardware demonstrations and travel to test sites as needed (up to 25%)
• Own high-level system responsibilities with significant professional autonomy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mission-driven outcomes

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in engineering or equivalent experience
• Professional mechanical or electrical design experience
• Proficiency in CAD and mechanical part design
• Familiarity with manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding)
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts
• Hands-on prototyping and test experience
• Strong first-principles engineering skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Eligibility to obtain a UAE security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aircraft subsystem layouts, avionics, or integrating payloads/weapons
• Structural, thermal, and electrical analysis competency
• Experience developing electronics hardware (UAVs, high-power propulsion, optical systems)
• Circuit characterization at schematic and board level
• Practical use of electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters)
• Familiarity designing for rugged environments
• Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills
