Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Project Lead/Senior Discipline Engineer/Manager on site.
  • Oversee, review, manage, and monitor implementation of construction documents on site.
  • Manage teams of discipline inspectors on site.
  • Liaise with design office, contractor, and client representatives to ensure construction complies with plans and specifications.
  • Perform technical and administrative activities requiring expertise in contract compliance, quality control (QC), and quality assurance (QA) for electrical project scopes.
  • Analyze applicable codes, standards, and contract documents, ensuring construction activities meet all requirements.
  • Interpret and clarify contract documents for contractors.
  • Maintain and prepare various records including reports, material accounting, change orders, and drawings.
  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate the inspection team, including conducting weekly meetings.
  • Resolve issues by ensuring complete responses and working with project engineering professionals.
  • Audit inspections and contractor plans for conformity.
  • Support the team lead and resident engineer, providing expert knowledge during snagging and handover.
  • Liaise with design engineers as needed for modifications.
  • Prepare and submit daily site reports; escalate issues to project leadership.
  • Monitor health and safety, reporting unsafe practices and stopping work if necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in design, supervision, and project administration of electrical works for large-scale projects (preferably in the Middle East)
  • Site experience in design, estimation, installation, and all site activities related to electrical works for major buildings
  • Strong knowledge of all electrical engineering methodologies, materials, and tools
  • Ability to interpret and execute electrical drawings
  • Understanding of local authority requirements
  • Experience with high-rise residential and commercial projects
  • Able to supervise inspection teams effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Post Graduate Degree
  • Membership of recognized institution (e.g., PE/Peng, CEng)
  • LEED GA or AP certification (especially for MEP discipline)
