Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising marine construction projects, including dredging, land reclamation, and coastal protection works
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations
  • Review and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and contractor submittals
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, progress updates, and quality control documentation
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project milestones are met
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency
  • Implement and oversee quality control measures throughout the construction process
  • Assist in the preparation of contract variations and claims assessments
  • Ensure compliance with local and international maritime regulations and standards
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical input to support decision-making processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in marine engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience supervising marine construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of marine and coastal engineering principles
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Excellent project management and multitasking skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical report writing abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Thorough understanding of maritime regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Willingness to work onsite in challenging marine environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
