Senior Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor the client’s programme or progress report
• Ensure the Client’s compliance with the Contract Documents
• Inspect all workmanship and material
• Coordinate the supply of vertical and horizontal controls for the Client
• Make layout checks on line and grades
• Coordinate with other Clients
• Maintain all file records (reports on workforce, equipment, progress, safety, etc.)
• Review and approve shop drawings
• Execute and interpret soils and materials testing as per contract documents/specifications
• Responsible for the contract; will not relieve Clients of responsibilities without authorization
• Final materials submittal and approval
• Certify progress payments
• Check personnel, equipment & material costs for Variation/Change Orders
• Review requests for additional compensation/time extension
• Prepare Variation Orders for ‘Additional’ and ‘New’ works
• Prepare the Monthly Report
• Monitor site safety; include monitoring activities, meetings, reviews, safety violations and accident reports in Monthly Progress Report
• Determine costs of additions/credits due and recommend action
• Inspect safety conditions and inform Clients of violations and required follow up

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 15 years' infrastructure engineering experience
• Experience managing large-scale projects (roads, highways, bridges, underpasses)
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and quality control
• Familiarity with Dubai building codes and regulations
• Excellent project management (budget & schedule)
• Advanced problem-solving/analytical abilities
• Strong technical report writing & communication skills
• Efficient, able to manage multiple projects
• Willingness to work onsite and travel as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• RTA approval
• Prior experience in RTA projects
