Test Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test benches for satellite hardware and software validation.
• Own the lifecycle management, updates, and evolution of test infrastructure across multiple satellite programs.
• Maintain and improve test stations, tools, and equipment for integration and test (I&T) campaigns.
• Collaborate with Systems, Assembly Integration & Test (AIT), Software, and Product teams to ensure test infrastructure aligns with program objectives.
• Support AIT campaigns with test setup, troubleshooting, and automation enhancements.
• Standardize and refine tools, processes, and interfaces involved in test infrastructure.
• Automate repetitive tasks and enhance workflow flexibility.
• Contribute to company-level process design to support robust scaling goals.
• Act as the main point of contact for test infrastructure needs, working closely with engineering teams to prioritize and deliver solutions.
• Identify pain points and suggest improvements to boost efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience with Linux and networking fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with embedded hardware (Engineering/Flight Models)
• System validation and platform integration expertise
• Strong Linux debugging skills (systemd, networkd, file systems)
• Experience with HIL setups
• Deep networking knowledge: VLANs, OSI layers, TCP/UDP, packet tracing
• Network diagnostics (tcpdump, Wireshark) skills
• Proficiency in Python and scripting languages (bash)
• Knowledge of software development practices
• Familiarity with version control systems (git, GitLab)
• Containerization experience (Docker, pods)
• Experience with continuous integration and cloud-based automation
• Understanding of MES, PLM, and procurement systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in embedded and space protocols/standards
• Collaboration with mechanical/electrical engineers
• Harness design and build
• Programming skills in C, C++, C#, Lua, YAML, or Cue
• Automated HIL test bench setup experience
• Previous experience working with space systems
