Banner Functional Consultant

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze their requirements for the Ellucian Banner system.
• Assist in the configuration, implementation, and optimization of Banner modules, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Records, and Finance.
• Provide training and support to institutional staff on the effective use of the Banner system.
• Conduct system testing and user acceptance testing to ensure functionality meets client expectations.
• Support data migration, cleansing, and integration activities with other systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation for processes, user guides, and training materials.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting to address client issues post-implementation.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 - 10 years as a Banner SIS Technical Consultant
• Strong expertise in Banner (Version 9) modules and components: Admissions, Student Records, Registration, Scheduling, Academic History, Academic Advising, Graduation, Banner Accounts Receivable, Banner Self Services, Degree Works, Courseleaf CMS
• Hands-on experience in system configuration, customization, workflows, business rules, automation
• Proficiency in Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning, data management
• Programming/scripting: PL/SQL, .NET Core, Python, Oracle Forms; Banner Extensibility Framework (BEF)
• Knowledge of integrations: Blackboard Ultra LMS, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Courseleaf CMS, class/exam scheduling, and integration tools
• Experience in reporting/analytics: Argos, Power BI, Oracle Reports, SAP Business Objects, custom SQL queries
• Data security, compliance, audit logs, access controls for student information
• Experience with Banner SaaS migration, upgrade, and integration re-engineering
• Experience in version upgrades, new module implementations, change management, user training, documentation
• Performance monitoring and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Ellucian and third-party vendors for support/upgrades
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Ellucian Banner certifications
• Agile SCRUM, PMP, or ITIL Foundation certifications
