Dynatrace Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain Dynatrace monitoring solutions for optimal performance and uptime of applications and infrastructure.
• Partner with sales and pre-sales teams as a Dynatrace SME to assess and define customer monitoring requirements.
• Conduct thorough sizing exercises to estimate resource consumption (host units, log volumes, metrics) for new clients/projects.
• Deploy and configure Dynatrace agents and modules across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Set up and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health using Dynatrace.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified by Dynatrace.
• Analyze monitoring data for anomalies and performance bottlenecks.
• Work with DevOps, developers, and IT operations to integrate Dynatrace into CI/CD pipelines.
• Train and support teams on Dynatrace use; communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Continuously improve monitoring coverage, update configurations, and implement best practices.
• Maintain documentation of monitoring configurations and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field OR equivalent work experience.
• Dynatrace Professional certification (required).
• 5+ years experience in a similar role with hands-on Dynatrace or other monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics, Splunk).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Dynatrace APM, Managed, and SaaS solutions.
• Experience in platform sizing and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional Dynatrace certifications.
• Experience with other monitoring tools.
• Ability to forecast resource consumption and capacity planning.
• Compliance with policies/procedures based on ISO standards adopted by CNS.
