Manager, Project Development

Responsibilities

• Lead EPC proposal development from planning through execution for renewable energy projects (PV and/or onshore wind).
• Manage up to two active projects and support initiation of additional projects.
• Prepare bid technical strategy, shortlist technologies and suppliers, and identify key deviations for competitiveness.
• Lead preparation of EPC RFPs with the design team and support supply chain in OEM RFPs and negotiations.
• Manage EPC proposals process with multiple contractors and contribute to O&M offer preparation and forecasts.
• Prepare EPC and O&M terms sheets and technical annexes; support negotiations on technical/delivery/execution aspects of contracts.
• Guide EPC contractors on cost reduction and up-to-date technical solutions to achieve lowest LCOE or highest IRR.
• Contribute to bottom-up cost estimation for EPC and O&M and negotiate priced estimates with counterparties.
• Coordinate with procurement to map latest equipment technologies and review equipment track records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver optimum techno-commercial solutions and ensure service providers meet SLAs.

Requirements

• MBA or MSc preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 6-8 years of relevant experience
• Proven EPC proposal development experience (PV or onshore wind)
• Experience drafting and negotiating EPC technical annexures
• Strong EPC contracts knowledge and negotiation experience
• Hands-on procurement and OEM engagement experience
• Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication
• Strong commercial and technical analytical skills
• Based in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or relevant master’s degree from a top-tier institution
• Extensive track record in winning IPP tenders and delivering competitive bids
• Deep technical knowledge of PV, onshore wind or related technologies (CSP, WtE an advantage)
• Experience with LCOE optimization, value engineering and bottom-up cost estimation
• Demonstrable experience managing consortiums, equity partners, advisors, lenders and contractors
