Emergency Medical Technician - Basic

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency medical calls and provide BLS on scene and enroute to hospital
• Drive ambulance safely using GPS and radio communications; observe traffic regulations
• Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments; take and record vital signs
• Provide airway management, CPR, AED use, ventilation and hemorrhage control
• Administer activated charcoal, oral glucose, oxygen and assist with specified medications (e.g., aspirin, epinephrine auto-injectors) per protocol
• Immobilize fractures and suspected spinal injuries; assist in pre-hospital childbirth
• Perform patient lifting, transfer and safe transport following infection control policies
• Maintain, clean, disinfect and restock ambulance, medical and communication equipment
• Complete accurate pre-hospital emergency care reports and handover to receiving facility
• Work closely with communications officers, field supervisors, ED staff, police and fire departments
• Attend continuing education and refresher training; maintain operational readiness

Requirements

• DOH license
• EMT-B certificate
• BLS certificate
• 2+ years experience
• English fluent
• Driver license
• UAE eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Arabic language skills
• ECG interpretation
• UAE EMS experience
• Advanced trauma training
• Familiarity with AED/defibrillation
