Audiologist

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic hearing assessments including pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, immittance measurement, otoacoustic emissions (OAE) and auditory brainstem response (ABR).
• Perform behavioral observation audiometry (BOA), play audiometry and newborn hearing screening.
• Conduct otoscopic evaluations and measure workplace noise levels; advise on hearing protection.
• Select, fit, program, troubleshoot and dispense hearing aids, ear moulds and other assistive listening devices; fit and tune cochlear implants and provide rehabilitation support.
• Provide counseling, auditory training, and communication strategies (lip-reading/sign support) to patients, families, educators and employers.
• Maintain accurate patient records from assessment through discharge and refer to physicians or surgeons when medical treatment is required.
• Develop and supervise hearing screening programs, participate in multidisciplinary teams and deliver staff/patient education and training.
• Stay current with equipment operation, maintenance and advances in hearing treatment methods and technology.

Requirements

• MSc Audiology
• 2+ years
• DOH licence
• Home country licence
• English fluent
• Arabic desirable

• Experience with cochlear implants
• Newborn screening experience
• Pediatric audiology
• Audiology counselling skills
