About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Drop-In Centre, including the 'Youthreach' room, gymnasium, and washrooms
  • Provide client oversight and engage in rapport-building activities with youth experiencing homelessness
  • Coordinate and administer drop-in centre attendance rolls and database entry
  • Track program activities and statistics to ensure accurate reporting
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for all clients and staff
  • Collaborate with Program Services Case Workers, volunteers, and community partners
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are met and participate in safety meetings
  • Perform administrative duties, including documentation and filing

Requirements

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have conferred refugee protection
  • Must possess a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression principles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth in a mentorship capacity
  • Current WHMIS certification
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
