About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise the Drop-In Centre, including the 'Youthreach' room, gymnasium, and washrooms
- Provide client oversight and engage in rapport-building activities with youth experiencing homelessness
- Coordinate and administer drop-in centre attendance rolls and database entry
- Track program activities and statistics to ensure accurate reporting
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for all clients and staff
- Collaborate with Program Services Case Workers, volunteers, and community partners
- Ensure Health and Safety standards are met and participate in safety meetings
- Perform administrative duties, including documentation and filing
Requirements
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have conferred refugee protection
- Must possess a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression principles
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with youth in a mentorship capacity
- Current WHMIS certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
