Youth Recreational and Leisure Activities Program Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement a summer day camp enrichment program for various age groups
• Supervise day camp staff, sports recreation staff, and special education assistants
• Provide competent supervision and build relationships with at-risk and neurodivergent children and youth
• Manage the registration process, including fee collection and permission slips
• Create daily program schedules and purchase necessary supplies
• Oversee the indoor and outdoor environments to ensure health and safety requirements are met
• Lead daily staff debriefing meetings and weekly full-staff meetings to promote teamwork and problem-solving
• Handle behavioral concerns in coordination with other staff and volunteers

Requirements

• High school diploma
• First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Experience working with children and knowledge of child development
• Experience in a leadership role and supervising others
• Knowledge of ways to engage neurodiverse learners in various activities
• Ability to provide a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Consent to background checks and required safety training
