Youth Leader

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage groups of up to 20 K–8th grade students to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
• Lead and facilitate enrichment activities, games, and academic support in areas such as STEM, arts, and physical education
• Support lesson plans, educational activities, and homework assistance
• Foster social-emotional growth using positive behavior strategies that promote respect, empathy, and community
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff and families
• Travel between multiple school sites as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 3 months of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or educational setting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be within a 30-minute commute of San Diego, CA
• Ability to work either Schedule A (6:30 AM - 11:30 AM) or Schedule B (12:00 PM - 6:30 PM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Students pursuing Education, Child Development, or Psychology coursework/degrees
• Experience in after-school programs, summer camps, tutoring, or youth mentoring
• Experience supporting students with special education needs
• Bilingual communication skills
