The Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia (Pozez JCC), located in Fairfax, Virginia, is a nonprofit, social service organization that builds community and enriches lives. The Pozez JCC is a community connector, offering a variety of programs and services on the main campus, online and throughout Northern Virginia through its many partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Teach group swim lessons using a 5-level curriculum, progressing swimmers through water safety, foundational skills, and advanced techniques
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for young swimmers of varying abilities
• Assess participant skill levels, track progress, and celebrate milestones
• Provide clear, encouraging instruction to help children achieve their swimming goals
• Communicate with families and team members regarding swimmer development
• Emphasize water safety and ensure awareness of emergency protocols

Requirements

• Certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and Swim Instruction (Red Cross or equivalent)
• Proven experience teaching swim lessons, especially to children in group settings
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse participant needs
• Availability on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
