Youth Employment Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support young people aged 15–24 to gain sustainable employment, apprenticeships, traineeships, or further education
• Conduct holistic assessments to identify vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment
• Develop tailored job plans and provide ongoing encouragement, advice, and motivation to participants
• Perform participant marketing activities, including cold calling and direct marketing, to introduce candidates to employers
• Undertake job-matching activities to facilitate successful placements
• Build and manage relationships with stakeholders such as Services Australia, housing, and mental health services
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with organizational policies and child safety principles

Requirements

• Experience in youth services, employment services, or related community services
• Tertiary qualifications in youth, employment, or community services (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel across the region
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass a national police history check and obtain a clearance to work with children
