Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate sports and recreational programs for youth
- Coordinate agency-wide sports leagues, tournaments, clinics, and specialty camps
- Create and maintain consistent sports and recreation schedules
- Instruct clients on the basic rules of various sports and activities
- Monitor recreational activities to ensure compliance with regulations
- Perform emergency runaway/homeless drop-in assessments
- Provide assistance with essentials like food, clothing, and immediate shelter
- Input and track all data relating to Drop-In clients in ETO
- De-escalate conflicts among clients through non-violent intervention
Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with homeless and runaway youth
- Valid New York State Driver’s License and willingness to drive
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Organized, forward-thinking, and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience providing recreational support and programming for a childcare non-profit organization
