Youth Development Recreational and Drop-In Specialist

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate sports and recreational programs for youth
• Coordinate agency-wide sports leagues, tournaments, clinics, and specialty camps
• Create and maintain consistent sports and recreation schedules
• Instruct clients on the basic rules of various sports and activities
• Monitor recreational activities to ensure compliance with regulations
• Perform emergency runaway/homeless drop-in assessments
• Provide assistance with essentials like food, clothing, and immediate shelter
• Input and track all data relating to Drop-In clients in ETO
• De-escalate conflicts among clients through non-violent intervention

Requirements

• Minimum of two years’ experience working with homeless and runaway youth
• Valid New York State Driver’s License and willingness to drive
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
• Organized, forward-thinking, and detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience providing recreational support and programming for a childcare non-profit organization
