About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and care for youth residents in a residential group home setting.
  • Develop and maintain strong therapeutic relationships to facilitate effective intervention and support.
  • Plan and implement group activities, life-skills training, and social recreational programming.
  • Monitor resident activities and provide personal, practical, and moral support.
  • Assist with daily living routines, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication supervision.
  • Document client progress, incident reports, and daily events while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Respond to crises and serious incidents using safe, therapeutic, and non-violent de-escalation techniques.
  • Collaborate with caseworkers and the multidisciplinary team to implement and monitor case plans.

Requirements

  • 2-year college diploma in Social Service Work, Childcare, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of residential experience working with marginalized clientele.
  • Current Driver's licence and a clean driving abstract.
  • CPR First Aid (C) certification.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience specifically working with youth.
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Certificate.
  • ASIST certification.
  • Food Handling Certificate.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Behaviour Based Model.
