About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and maintain the safety and security of residents within the residential group home and the community.
- Develop and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with youth to facilitate effective intervention and support.
- Plan, implement, and participate in group activities, life-skills training, and social recreational programming.
- Monitor resident activities and provide personal, practical, and moral support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of case plans and report progress to Caseworkers.
- Manage crisis situations and serious incidents in a safe, therapeutic, and non-violent manner.
- Perform facility duties including meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication supervision.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including incident reports, daily logs, and client progress notes.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in Social Service Work, Childcare, or a related field.
- 1+ years of residential experience working with marginalized clientele.
- Valid CPR First Aid (C) certification.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Driver's licence and a clean driving abstract.
- ASIST certification.
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Ability to work rotational shifts and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically working with youth.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Behaviour Based Model.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
