For over 50 years, Covenant House New York (CHNY) has been at the forefront of transforming lives by providing comprehensive shelter, housing, and wrap-around support services for vulnerable homeless, runaway, and exploited youth. CHNY impacts the lives of over 1,500 young people aged 16-24 every year.

Responsibilities

• Assist youth in finding employment, vocational training, or post-secondary education opportunities
• Establish and maintain relationships with employers and community organizations to develop placement opportunities
• Develop a job bank including temporary, seasonal, full-time, and part-time positions
• Assist youth with resume development, cover letters, and applications
• Organize recruitment days, job fairs, and tours of local training programs
• Coordinate with Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing staff to ensure housing stability
• Write detailed case notes and track program statistics in the ETO system
• Provide retention services to ensure youth success and employer satisfaction

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 5 years of experience in youth engagement or working with at-risk populations
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse, disadvantaged, or at-risk populations
• Knowledge of the local job market and employer contacts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish
