Youth Activities Counselor

Responsibilities

• Interact with and supervise children ages 3-17 in Youth Activities programs
• Assist in setting up, executing, and cleaning up facilitated activities
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of youth spaces and objects
• Provide registration, check-in, and check-out services using computer programs
• Prepare food trays for children during meal or snack times
• Facilitate small-scale activities and perform meet-and-greet functions for families
• Assist in adult or family activities including game shows and crowd control
• Support recreational activities at Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of recent experience working with children in recreation, resort, daycare, or classroom settings
• OR 3+ seasons of overnight or day camp experience
• Strong English oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency using computers
• Ability to proactively entertain high volumes of children with high energy
• Strong collaborative, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
• Ability to work in a shipboard environment and live in shared accommodations
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Schooling in recreation, education, or a related field of study
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities
• Experience using a microphone
• Experience working with children with special needs
