Yard Switcher

Responsibilities

• Move tractor-trailers to designated areas of the facility for loading and unloading operations
• Assist in the preparation of trailers for loading and unloading
• Direct incoming drivers to the correct parking slots for trailer drops
• Move full and empty trailers to designated dock doors
• Ensure all dock trailers have wheels properly choked
• Monitor the switcher truck for necessary maintenance and upkeep
• Maintain a constant state of alertness to ensure safe and efficient trailer movement
• Receive, record, and distribute incoming and outgoing UPS, RPS, and FedEx packages
• Monitor the yard area for unauthorized removal of product

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Georgia Class A CDL
• Good vision and depth perception
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (below freezing to 100 degrees) and inclement weather
• Ability to climb and manually hook/unhook trucks
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness
