Yard Driver

Responsibilities

• Operate specialized tractor trucks to maneuver semi-trailers between factory and warehouse locations
• Efficiently move, hook, and unhook trailers to and from loading docks, including work in tight spaces
• Organize trailers in the yard according to instructions from dispatchers, leads, or supervisors
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard goat trucks and trailers, checking lights, tires, brakes, fuel, oil, and water
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, hourly usage, and inspection reports
• Position trailers for loading and unloading while ensuring the safety of all equipment in the yard

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A license
• Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card
• High School Diploma, GED, or vocational education certificate
• Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and 10-hour shifts
• Ability to perform physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements for a production environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a driver at a warehouse or distribution center
