About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face and virtual tutorial assistance to students in designated content areas
  • Develop educational resources, conduct class visits, and facilitate workshops as requested
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and update databases accordingly
  • Prepare written and Excel reports regarding tutoring activities as assigned
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new professional and peer tutors
  • Attend required training and professional development sessions to maintain competency
  • Perform routine clerical tasks, including answering phones and greeting visitors

Requirements

  • Ability to tutor at the 200-course level or above (unofficial transcripts required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated and able to work a hybrid schedule of remote and onsite sessions
  • Minimum educational/experience requirements based on pay scale:
  • Master's degree in a related field plus one year of teaching/tutoring experience ($20/hr)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one year of teaching/tutoring experience ($19.06/hr)
  • Associate's degree or 60 college credits in a related field plus six months of experience ($17.00/hr)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience using student database systems such as Colleague
  • Demonstrated experience working with underserved populations
  • TEFL or TESOL Certification
  • Bilingual or Multilingual skills
