About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead high-quality workshops focused on traditional crafts or farming methods
- Provide expert instruction to students ranging from beginners to advanced practitioners
- Manage classroom environments and student engagement during workshop sessions (typically 9 am to 5 pm)
- Plan workshop curriculum, including material requirements and skill level progression
- Utilize available natural resources (such as timber, fleece, or plant materials) to enhance the learning experience where possible
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in a traditional craft (e.g., Blacksmithing, Woodworking, Fiber Arts, Basketry, or Farm & Garden)
- Proven teaching or instructional experience
- A professional portfolio or samples of work that represent the projects students will complete in class
- Ability to provide a detailed resume or bio outlining education and area of expertise

Sanborn Mills Farm is a non-profit adult craft school located in rural Loudon, New Hampshire. We serve as a center for the renewal of the human spirit, dedicated to teaching traditional crafts and farming methods while sustainably using our field and forest resources. Our faculty includes both local talent and instructors of national reputation, supporting over 70 workshops annually.
