Workshop Associate, Cold Work

Responsibilities

• Guide individuals and groups through hands-on glassmaking experiences including sandblasting, fusing, and engraving
• Create engaging and educational experiences for participants of all ages and skill levels
• Process glass projects from creation to completion, including kiln operation, packaging, and shipping
• Maintain clean and organized studio spaces, tools, and equipment
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply management
• Operate specialized machinery such as sandblasters, engraving lathes, and belt sanders
• Support the Museum's commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion

Requirements

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
• Experience in customer service, hospitality, education, arts, or museum environments preferred
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to learn technical glassmaking processes and equipment operation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching, facilitating, or leading groups
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
