Working Student: Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining C-based embedded firmware
• Implement real-time control logic and system configurations
• Interface with hardware peripherals including ADCs, DACs, and communication modules
• Support firmware debug and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers in a lab environment
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to development best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, hardware, and software engineering teams
• Create and maintain technical firmware documentation and user guides

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems
• Solid understanding of Microcontroller (MCU) architecture and low-level concepts
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic lab experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debugging interfaces
• Knowledge of bare-metal or RTOS-based firmware development
• Exposure to DC/DC power conversion and mixed-signal concepts
• Scripting experience in Python for automation and testing
• Familiarity with serial communication protocols such as I2C and UART
• Educational background or interest in Machine Learning
