Working Foreperson - Caretaking

Responsibilities

• Supervise a Lead Hand and/or a large custodial crew in one or more buildings
• Inspect the work of service and maintenance workers to assess quality and report to the Supervisor
• Coordinate shifts in the absence of the Supervisor
• Arrange and direct training for new staff members to ensure safe and efficient task completion
• Maintain performance and time records for submission to management
• Respond to client requests, follow up on complaints, and report necessary repairs
• Manage furniture handling and set-ups using appropriate equipment and work orders
• Utilize an online work order system to download, print, and assign tasks
• Perform simple maintenance functions, such as changing lights or emergency clean-ups, as required

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of three (3) years of cleaning experience
• Previous experience as a Lead Hand or in a similar supervisory role
• Extensive knowledge of cleaning materials and their effects on various surfaces
• Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to use equipment safely
• Proficiency in English (both oral and written)
• Basic computer skills
