Workforce, Safety, and Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support workforce administration, including HRIS data management and bi-weekly payroll processing for internal and vendor workforces
• Manage onboarding, documentation, and classification for independent contractors and W-2 employees across the U.S. and Puerto Rico
• Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and Puerto Rico labor laws, including PRDOLHR guidance and civil law requirements
• Oversee vendor and third-party management, including onboarding, performance tracking, and maintaining business registrations and licenses
• Support safety programs by maintaining OSHA and PR OSHA standards, safety logs, and incident reports
• Coordinate safety training, certification tracking, and act as a point of contact for carrier safety audits and regulatory inspections
• Mitigate organizational risk through proactive monitoring of multi-state and territorial compliance requirements
• Track and analyze workforce, vendor, and safety metrics to provide regular reporting to leadership

Requirements

• Associates degree in Business Administration, Safety Management, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience in workforce, safety, or compliance leadership within contractor-driven or field-based industries
• Strong working knowledge of independent contractor regulations and vendor compliance
• Experience supporting multi-state or territorial operations, specifically including Puerto Rico
• Knowledge of OSHA, PR OSHA, and Puerto Rico labor law requirements
• Strong documentation, audit management, and cross-jurisdiction compliance skills
