Workforce Optimization Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement standard organization-wide scheduling methodologies and optimization tools
• Provide consultation to managers on rotation management techniques to optimize resource utilization
• Analyze rotations to ensure compliance with collective agreements, staffing policies, and clinical models of care
• Build and optimize master rotation plans considering budget constraints and coverage needs
• Conduct quantitative analysis and reporting on scheduling metrics to support operational decision-making
• Support workforce planning challenges including overtime, sick leave, and leave management
• Facilitate change management and provide training/education to schedulers and super users

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Science, Nursing, Business, Engineering, CS, Math, or IT
• Minimum 3 years of scheduling experience in a unionized acute care setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Query, and Power BI
• Experience with UKG or other electronic scheduling systems
• Knowledge of Collective Agreements and clinical models of care
• Experience with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Forms, Power Apps)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
