About the role
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end WFM architecture across Workday and integrated systems, translating business and regulatory requirements into scalable designs
- Design solutions compliant with U.S. federal, state, and local labor regulations in partnership with Legal, Payroll, and HR policy teams
- Provide architectural guidance through the full lifecycle of planning, building, testing, and deployment
- Define and maintain WFM patterns, standards, and design principles to ensure architectural consistency
- Review and approve solution designs, integration approaches, and data flows
- Partner with Integration, Security, and Data teams to ensure resilient and secure system designs
- Resolve technical challenges and manage technical debt to support production stability
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in HR technology or enterprise application architecture
- Demonstrated expertise in Workforce Management (WFM) and/or payroll-adjacent solution design
- Strong knowledge of Workday Time & Absence and WFM concepts
- Proven experience operating in regulated U.S. labor and payroll environments
- Deep understanding of Workday integration patterns, data flows, and API design
- Experience with foundational data architecture, security-by-design, and non-functional requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale HR transformations or platform modernization programs
- Exposure to unionized labor and complex time rules
- Experience supporting acquisitions, divestitures, or large-scale workforce changes
- Workday Pro certifications or previous experience as a Technical Architect in HR/Payroll domains
