Workers Compensation Attorney

Responsibilities

• Represent injured workers in workers' compensation claims
• Oversee a caseload of workers' compensation cases from initiation through resolution
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
• Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation, including appeals, settlement negotiations, and trial preparations
• Collaborate with leadership and support staff to devise case strategies
• Maintain strong client communication and guide them throughout the case

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in New York in good standing
• Minimum of 5 years of experience handling workers' compensation law matters in New York
• Proficient litigation skills including drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and courtroom appearances
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Empathy and a client-focused attitude
