Work Equipment Mechanic Field

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair tools, roadway machines, vehicles, and heavy equipment
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Organize and track maintenance information and coordinate team tasks
• Adhere to all company, industry, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and contractors

Requirements

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• 4 years of verifiable experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic OR a Journeyman's Mechanic's card
• Ability to read and comprehend electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
• Proficient computer literacy and basic arithmetic skills
• Ability to pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT) and meet FMCSA medical requirements
• Must be willing to travel extensively (95-100% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B
• Associate's degree or higher in mechanics, diesel technology, or electrical components
• Experience working outdoors in diverse weather conditions
• Experience operating heavy moving equipment
