About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support USINDOPACOM as a WPS planner, working with Foreign Partners to execute joint military exercises incorporating WPS initiatives and curricula.
  • Integrate WPS perspectives and approaches into USINDOPACOM strategy and plans, including the Theater Campaign Plan (TCP) and Theater Campaign Order (TCO).
  • Contribute to the revision of USINDOPACOM strategies, plans, and policies to ensure compliance with WPS statutory requirements.
  • Participate in USINDOPACOM battle rhythm joint planning groups and other working groups as a WPS expert.
  • Provide instructor and facilitator support for WPS security cooperation training and engagements.
  • Conduct unclassified and classified research to support emerging operational concepts and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with senior-level strategic planning, briefings, and the preparation of formal papers for USINDOPACOM senior leadership.
  • Act as a J56 Action Officer, providing administrative, logistical, and technical support to the Branch.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a military command and staff college (JPME Phase 1).
  • 15+ years of DoD experience.
  • DoD WPS Focal Point training and certification.
  • 5+ years of experience within the Indo-Pacific region, including knowledge of USINDOPACOM Theater Strategy and battle rhythm.
  • 3+ years of experience working in or familiarity with Women, Peace, and Security (WPS).
  • 5+ years of experience with joint doctrine, joint strategic planning, and the joint operational planning process.
  • 5+ years of experience in Military Plans, preferably joint-multinational planning.
  • Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance (US Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of the planning continuum, including the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), Joint Operating Concepts (JOC), and Joint Capabilities Areas (JCA).
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. national plans and policy, such as the National Security Strategy (NSS) and National Military Strategy (NMS).
  • Thorough understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
  • Proven ability to deliver executive summaries and presentations to Flag/General Officers (FO/GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) officials.
