Wiring Technician

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire control panels based on engineering drawings and diagrams
• Perform mechanical assembly including drilling, tapping, and fastening
• Execute wire stripping, crimping, cutting, and cable preparation
• Interpret electrical manufacturing drawings and schematics
• Create accurate labels and cable tags using electronic and handheld machines
• Mount electrical and electronic components onto sub-panels
• Install and mount field devices and terminate cables to instrumentation and junction boxes
• Assemble and loom cables according to internal HPI standards
• Liaise with project engineers regarding manufacturing processes

Requirements

• 0-2+ years of experience in electronic assembly or as an electrician's apprentice
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Foundational understanding of electrical and electronic theory
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/bend for 8+ hours
• High attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to pass a background check and participate in drug/alcohol programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational program or certification in electrical wiring
• Familiarity with industry standards like IPC-WHMA-A-620
• Experience bending and installing electrical conduit
• Prior experience in high-volume manufacturing
