Wiring/Assembly Technician

Responsibilities

• Wire complex assemblies using technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and working instructions
• Perform terminal installation and manufacture of cable looms
• Execute high-density multi-pin and surface mount device (SMD) soldering
• Conduct mechanical assembly of control cabinets, racks, frames, and associated metalwork
• Perform printed circuit board (PCB) assembly, repairs, and modifications
• Conduct comprehensive checks on wired assemblies to ensure quality
• Maintain data integrity in all paperwork and electronic systems, including ERP and traceability
• Adhere to health and safety practices, including ESD precautions and housekeeping standards

Requirements

• Qualification or practical experience in electrical assembly
• Significant previous assembly experience within a workshop manufacturing environment
• Excellent soldering skills, including complex high-density connectors and surface mount devices
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong time management skills
• Must be a sole British Citizen due to security restrictions
• Ability to achieve at least the Baseline Personnel Security Standard

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC-A-610 or IPC-620 qualifications
