Wine Sommelier - Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Curate, manage, and maintain the hotel's wine collection and beverage inventory
• Provide expert wine recommendations and food and wine pairings to guests
• Train, mentor, and supervise sommelier and service staff
• Develop and update wine lists and beverage programmes in collaboration with culinary teams
• Conduct wine tastings, educational seminars, and special beverage events
• Manage wine procurement, vendor negotiations, and cost controls
• Oversee cellar management, including storage conditions and inventory rotation
• Monitor beverage sales performance and implement revenue growth strategies
• Ensure compliance with all alcohol service regulations and licensing requirements

Requirements

• Certified Sommelier credential or equivalent internationally recognized certification
• 5+ years of professional sommelier experience in luxury hospitality
• Expertise in wine inventory management and cellar operations
• Comprehensive knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food pairing
• Proficiency with beverage management systems and POS platforms
• Strong analytical and financial acumen for budget management
• Background in fine dining or luxury hotel establishments

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Sommelier or Master Sommelier level training
• Broad knowledge of spirits, craft cocktails, and premium non-alcoholic beverages
