Wind Turbine Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbines and associated infrastructure, including substations and transmission systems
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using schematics
• Perform mechanical and electrical component repairs or replacements following manufacturer requirements
• Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM manuals
• Monitor turbine performance and SCADA systems while interpreting fault reports
• Perform data collection and prepare necessary wind plant reports
• Support construction through mechanical and commissioning walk-downs
• Comply with all environmental, health, and safety programs

Requirements

• Advanced computer skills for diagnostic, troubleshooting, and reporting systems
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily to perform maintenance
• Ability to frequently lift 51 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude, including the ability to work on electrical systems
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, including crane and rigging requirements
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
• Ability to work in extremely adverse weather conditions and on an on-call schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Wind Turbine Technology
• Experience in wind and solar plant construction, operation, and maintenance
• Experience with wind turbine and solar power converters and inverters
• Experience in high voltage switching
• Local residency in or near the Wasco, OR area
