Wind Tunnel Systems Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and people leadership to a multidisciplinary team within the Experimental Aerodynamics Department
• Oversee the development, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical, electronic, control, instrumentation, and hydraulic systems
• Ensure the wind tunnel facility and test rigs are safe, reliable, and capable of delivering high-quality aerodynamic data
• Collaborate with aerodynamicists, mechanical designers, and software engineers to support testing environments
• Drive system development, fault finding, and simulation to improve system capability and performance
• Balance leadership duties with hands-on engineering and practical problem-solving in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Control, Systems, Mechatronic, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience with complex engineering systems in wind tunnel, motorsport, aerospace, or automotive environments
• Knowledge of industrial automation, system integration, commissioning, and fault finding
• Proficiency in PLC programming or Beckhoff TwinCAT
• Experience with application development using .NET, C#, or Python
• Experience with modelling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, or Simscape
