Wind Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance
• Troubleshoot and repair SCADA communication systems and electrical problems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Use electrical test equipment for troubleshooting and testing
• Lead maintenance and troubleshooting crews as necessary
• Safely perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Document all work, parts used, and time spent using computer-based reporting
• Maintain hand tools and operate service vehicles

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or willing to obtain within 6 months)
• Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet and work in confined spaces
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in adverse climates and environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• For Level II/III: Associate’s degree in electrical or technical field and relevant turbine experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in SAP
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience in power generation or utility environments
