Wind Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site wind turbine repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Utilize specialized tools including heating torches, hydraulic presses, and liquid nitrogen to disassemble high-pressure joints
• Rig heavy industrial equipment using overhead cranes and align machinery for testing
• Disassemble and reassemble machine components such as bearings, couplings, and high-pressure joints (4000 bar)
• Document failure analysis reports and perform final testing
• Identify field failures, communicate with customers, and manage travel arrangements and expense reports
• Maintain organized documentation and sketches of part assemblies for reassembly

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical repair and inspection experience
• Proven experience with field service travel
• Ability to climb 300 feet while carrying 35 lbs of gear
• Ability to work in confined spaces and work independently
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to travel extensively (80–100%) across the U.S. and Canada

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience specifically within the wind industry or with wind power products
