WHS Manager

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Key Account Director to implement, monitor, and review the contract Health & Safety Plan
• Provide operational and tactical HSE advice to the contract management team
• Coach and mentor leaders to build capability in WHS practices and foster a positive safety culture
• Support the standardization of HSEQ processes in collaboration with the broader HSEQ team
• Participate in internal audit programs to ensure compliance, governance, and continuous improvement
• Maintain certifications including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and Federal Safety Commissioner WHS accreditation
• Champion the utilization of the HSEQ system (Velocity) for hazard reporting, investigations, and audits
• Analyze and report on safety data to support informed decision-making

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in an operational WHS role (facilities management, resources, or infrastructure)
• Relevant health and safety qualification (minimum Cert IV)
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Standard 11 Coal Induction and QLD Coal Board Medical
• Ability to pass a National Police Check
• Willingness to travel frequently between Central Highlands sites

Preferred Qualifications

• OHS Management Systems Auditor qualification
• Root Cause Analysis training (iCAM, Tap Root, or similar)
