About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as field lead or crew member performing field surveys
  • Act as primary author for environmental documents including technical memoranda, biological assessments, and habitat mitigation plans
  • Lead the preparation and implementation of biological field studies such as wetland delineations and vegetation classification
  • Manage projects, tasks, or subconsultants to ensure work stays within scope, budget, and schedule
  • Develop permitting strategies and provide QA/QC for work processes and deliverables
  • Perform field work approximately 40% of the time, including traversing uneven terrain and working in various weather conditions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the Northwest collecting and analyzing ecological data
  • Experience in wetland and aquatic resource studies
  • Proven ability to prepare environmental documents like Wetland and Stream Reports or permit applications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology or a related environmental/ecological field
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and walk long distances
  • Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in wetland science and permitting
  • Experience in botany, fisheries biology, wildlife ecology, or habitat restoration ecology
  • Proficiency with digital field data collection tools such as ArcGIS Collector, Field Maps, or Survey 123
  • Strong technical writing skills
