Wet Mechanical Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee third-party design and construction of wet mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, and process piping
• Validate engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, equipment specifications, and system layouts for compliance with project and industry standards
• Coordinate with design firms, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure system performance and on-time delivery
• Lead quality assurance, risk assessment, and commissioning activities to ensure system reliability and safety compliance
• Support the transition from construction to sustaining engineering support post-commissioning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in wet mechanical systems engineering (plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, or process piping)
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes including ASME B31.1, UPC, IPC, and ASHRAE
• Proficiency in reviewing engineering documentation and 3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional coordination with external partners and internal teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing facility projects
• Familiarity with BIM coordination, clash detection, and integrated system design workflows
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices, energy-efficient hydronic systems, and water conservation strategies
• Experience with control systems such as PLC or SCADA and system commissioning processes
• Professional certifications such as PE, LEED AP, or CPD
