About the role
Responsibilities
- Steward monthly Global Wells Quality Network meetings to lead process standardization and implement best practices.
- Lead the improvement of Interval Problem Reporting and Quality Event Reports (QER) across business units.
- Support the Global Wells Quality network with rig equipment inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Maintain Wells Teams Quality Plans and assist in implementing Quality Control Plans for suppliers and drilling contractors.
- Provide technical support to ensure drill string and BHA equipment meet specified technical and quality requirements.
- Coordinate equipment and service failure investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Organize and supervise verification programs via Third Party Inspectors (TPIs) to ensure conformance with industry codes.
- Review manufacturing and service documents such as Drill Pipe Inspection reports, TPI reports, and MTRs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in oil and gas drilling services equipment inspection and testing.
- Minimum CGPA of 7.0/10.
- NDT Level II certification in MPT, UT, LPT, RT, and VT.
- Strong knowledge of API Q1, API Q2, and API product specifications (e.g., API 5CT, API 5DP).
- Familiarity with Drill String Inspection (DS-1) and maintenance.
- Knowledge of drilling services and rig equipment inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or auditing experience in ISO 9001, API Q1, or API Q2.
- Welding certification or experience through a recognized body such as AWS or CSWIP 3.1/3.2.
- Experience with premium connections (VAM, Tenaris, JFE, and Hunting) and rotary connection inspection.
