About the role
Responsibilities
- Create intuitive visualizations of drilling, completion, and production data to provide immediate engineering insights
- Work on complex data visualization projects using Spotfire or Power BI to solve engineering and business problems
- Develop robust data models for Wells data, including drilling, completion, and production datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources such as PI, SAP, EC, and CORVA
- Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with various technical teams
- Provide engineering recommendations in drilling and well performance areas based on data modeling and analysis
- Develop automated reports and custom visuals to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders
- Contribute to various stages of the analytics lifecycle, including model deployment and maintenance
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics and visualization within the upstream oil and gas industry
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (including PySpark)
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Spotfire or Power BI
- Expertise in data modeling for various data types, including real-time data
- Experience extracting data from diverse databases like SQL Server or Oracle
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Databricks and GitHub
- Experience in well design, performance monitoring, or well management optimization
- Experience with programming languages such as Java
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating critical design and operating parameters
