Wells Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create intuitive visualizations of drilling, completion, and production data to provide immediate engineering insights
• Work on complex data visualization projects using Spotfire or Power BI to solve engineering and business problems
• Develop robust data models for Wells data, including drilling, completion, and production datasets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources such as PI, SAP, EC, and CORVA
• Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with various technical teams
• Provide engineering recommendations in drilling and well performance areas based on data modeling and analysis
• Develop automated reports and custom visuals to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders
• Contribute to various stages of the analytics lifecycle, including model deployment and maintenance

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics and visualization within the upstream oil and gas industry
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (including PySpark)
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Spotfire or Power BI
• Expertise in data modeling for various data types, including real-time data
• Experience extracting data from diverse databases like SQL Server or Oracle

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Databricks and GitHub
• Experience in well design, performance monitoring, or well management optimization
• Experience with programming languages such as Java
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating critical design and operating parameters
