About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and administer activities and programs to meet the needs of Complex Continuing Care (CCC) patients
- Lead activity programs for individuals and groups
- Ensure patient safety during activities, including environmental and equipment safety
- Participate in program development and decision-making
- Provide feedback to the interprofessional team regarding patient participation and behavior
- Promote the benefits of activities to patients
Requirements
- Post-secondary Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies or a related degree
- Experience planning activities for residential complex care populations, including cognitively impaired and behavioral patients
- Knowledge of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Infection Control, and Risk Management
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) at Health Provider Level
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to facilitate and work with volunteers
- Proficiency in office computer applications and databases
Preferred Qualifications
- Interprofessional team experience
- Knowledge of health policies and legislation
